Blazing sunshine, traditional Amsterdam produce and the chance to play some top european teams, could it get any better than this? Well yes it could, there were rumours of prostitutes, nakedness and that's just Rowser

The weekend started early for a few people with Faiz, Matt, Dan, Drew and Tom taking in the sights, sounds and atmosphere of traditional Amsterdam. Coffee shops were frequented, prostitutes were visited (or so I'm led to believe), gear was purchased.

The rest of us arrived on the Thursday evening, found the site and found the only restaurant we could. We now had our team, we consisted of: Dan S-R, Drew, Jono, Tom Passmore, Faiz, Matt Benyohai, Ben Peek, Phil the Dad, Steffi, Paddy and Sven. An injured Vito and Becky were also there to cheer us on.

The tournament started on the Friday morning, on quite narrow pitches and we lined up against the Czech national team. We started with the wind, and managed to score the first point. We traded up to 4-4, but then they turned it on and beat us convincingly.

This was the par for the course against a lot teams, most of which were national teams or top club teams. We got a couple of wins and some close games, but ended up in a 5 way round robin for the bottom five places. One of the games, against Ultimus Prime, was the longest game of Ultimate I have ever been in. The swiss system meant that all the games were to 15, and this game was tight, I think they won 15-13 in the end after over 2 hours of ultimate - it was fantastic!

In the round-robin we beat Highland Fling, Spartans and settled the score with Ultimus Prime to come 18th out of 21, only (just) losing to our fellow english team Lurve. A fantastic performance considering we were stoned, drunk or both for the duration of the weekend!

The main reason we were there was for the parties though. The friday night was in Amsterdam, we hit the bars and coffee shops before ending up in a random Irish bar (via the Red Light district!) to celebrate mine and Phils stag do's.

On saturday we remained at the campsite and partied in the clubhouse. I don't remember much, but I have vague recollections of playing poker (badly), playing 21s with Highland Fling, and Human Buckerooing a random Irish Guy. I got to bed at 6am and we were on at 9am - I hate sunday mornings.

A fantastic tournament, I can't wait for Windup 2008!

ps. An aftermath story - a certain member found he had a drugs screening10 days after getting back. A diet of only cranberry juice and beetroot actually works! He passed! Jammy b*stard!
