and done. A Tour was all that was needed in terms of a report.
and done. A Tour was all that was needed in terms of a report. Ok I'll embellish... The weekend started with getting to grips with the reality that the team that wants it most will be the victors and Tour A candidates. Missing Nimble, Ben, Jimbo, Gordon and other key players didn't help us but we each knew our limitations and strengths on day one and made quick and dirty work of Leeds2 and Seamus Murphy while playing some of the best Ultimate I've even seen against BPF2. Credit to Drew for earning FCs first ever game winning Callahan! What would that be worth in fantasy? Day two came and we felt the usual stiffness indicating a Saturday well played. We came out strong and took Boogie Knights to 10-3 only to face Boogies change in tactics to a zone and feel the pain of 8 straight against us to give them and 10-11 lead! We stopped...realised our booboo of trying to play through the zone and inserted our long game and killer zone into the equation. Basically Huck and D. We won 15-11. Tactics rock. Last game and final against Ltd Release. It's fair to say they were a top 10 team. At Tour 0 they we're missing 60% of their team. This time they had it all and killed us 15-3. To be fair to FC we didn't want it that much and it showed. We played well just not 100%. It wouldn't have mattered if we did. Ltd were better and showed us where we need to work. Credit to Grant on day 2 for his layout Callahan!! No game winner but still huge. That's 3 so far. Nice work. Tour A, Tour 2 in Mansfield. We'll enter as 14th seed in the country. Oh and did I mention that EMO..ahem...dropped to B Tour putting us ahead of them. Flyght Club are the top team in the Midlands. Always have been really...now it's official. |
